Assessment of an Axially Loaded Self-Sensing Concrete Element with Recycled Steel Residuals

This paper describes the fundamental evaluation of a self-sensing concrete column using recycled steel residuals (RSR) as functional fill and testing under slow-rate cyclic loading. The RSR modified has advantage sustainably otherwise waste material from fabrication process. Two columns (one without one with 2% by volume) were fabricated in lab load-tested axial compression. are connected to an alternating current power source have three electrode sets each for electric property measurements. results indicate that specimen can accurately detect loading unloading processes electric-based measurements calculate resistivity. Based on test results, empirical linear equations derived correlate mechanical electrical behaviors.
